The American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.

All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay.

Jacksonville Marine Institute

The Jacksonville Marine Institute (JMI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth between the ages of 14 and 18 develop into responsible and productive citizens.

The vision of JMI is to positively intervene in the lives of troubled youth. The goal is to have each child that we serve, discover their own personal worth, value, aspirations and inspirations.

The JMI staff strives to assist teens in the development of attitudes and behaviors that are necessary to successfully live within their families and their community.

These attitudes are the foundation needed to foster responsibility towards themselves, as well as others.

The majority of students attending JMI have many stressors/risk factors in their lives including: residing in the highest crime areas of our city, minimal parental support, and living at or below the poverty level. Presence of these factors contributes to children's low self esteem and limited outlook on life.

Our goal is to instill hope in every child, one at a time.
