Special
Event for St. Jude to Raise Funds for St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital
Jacksonville,
Fl May 17, 2009 – A Yogathon
for St. Jude will be gearing up on May 30 from 9:00a.m. until
11:30a.m. at Mindful Motion Yoga. The event will raise funds for
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, the premier
center for the research and treatment of childhood cancer and
other deadly diseases.
“St. Jude is the leader in the fight against catastrophic
childhood diseases such as leukemia, brain tumors and sickle cell
disease,” said Terri Morrison, owner of Mindful Motion Yoga
and coordinator of the Southside event. “Through events
like this one, Jacksonville will be supporting the St. Jude mission
of finding cures and saving children from across the country and
around the world.” The Yogathon for St Jude is a long held
tradition at another local yoga studio, Yoga Den in Mandarin.
"I am honored that Alyson Foreacre, owner of Yoga Den, asked
us to host a Yogathon to coincide with their event" said
Terri.
The Mindful Motion Yoga event will feature two yoga practices
starting with a "Nothin' but the Sun" series of Sun
Salutations from 9:00 until 10:00 followed by a relaxation and
transition into a Very Gentle Yoga Practice starting at 10:30.
No yoga experience is necessary to join us for the Gentle Practice.
Participants may choose to join us for one or both events.
Anyone who wishes to participate in this Yogathon event may do
so by making a donation of choice to St. Jude. Donation forms
and envelopes will be available Mindful Motion Yoga the day of
the event. Participants may also obtain sponsors by asking them
to pledge a flat donation for their participation. Participants
are encouraged to invite friends and family to this fun, worthwhile
event. For more information or to participate, contact Terri at
